The Opportunity
We’re inviting a dedicated and experienced Psychosocial Recovery Coach to join our expanding team in a contractor capacity.
The Role
CoAbility is an expert in providing exceptional support services to participants with complex needs. As a Psychosocial Recovery Coach, you will work collaboratively with NDIS participants, acknowledging that each person is an expert in their own life.
This role begins as a sub-contract position, upon demonstrating exceptional performance, there is the opportunity to transition to a permanent full-time role.
Travelling to customers is a role requirement, and kilometres will be reimbursed.
Success in this role is marked by:
- Delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring that service is person-centred and actively supports the mental wellness of our customers
- Actively coaching and engaging customers to build their independence and ability to build strong, respectful relationships
- Promoting capacity and resilience through periods of complexity or change
- Collaborating with other systems of support, including those outside the NDIS landscape
- Maintaining accurate, relevant and factual notes and other documentation
- Reporting on customer progress, goals, fund utilisation, linkages to services and changes in needs or circumstances
- Managing a caseload and performing tasks autonomously
- Ensuring customers receive value-for-money support that builds their capacity and independence.
About You
You Will:
- Have a minimum of a Certificate 4 in Mental Health or other relevant Community Services-related discipline and 2 years+ of lived or work experience in mental health/psychosocial disability
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the needs of people living with a psychosocial disability
- Demonstrate an understanding of the role of coaching in recovery and the application of these skills in a 1:1 or group setting
- Confidently facilitate and present wellbeing workshops to groups in an online and community setting
- Work with customers face to face and online to maintain connection and actively encourage them as they work on their recovery goals
- Have expertise across a diversity of disability types, including psychosocial disability and recovery-oriented practice
- Demonstrate highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including working and communicating effectively with clients, their families, community agencies and other professionals
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excel at exercising judgment and initiative while meeting deadlines in a high-demand work environment
- Possess resilience and initiative, with a natural ability for problem-solving and networking
- Be process-oriented with excellent organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
- Possess excellent computer and CRM skills

- A valid Driver’s license and comprehensively insured motor vehicle
- Full Australian working rights
- Australia Business Number (ABN)
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children’s Check
- Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Valid Driver’s licence and comprehensively insured motor vehicle
